The Hexagon Theatre in Reading is a prestigious venue for a variety of shows and performances. Following a survey a major quantity of asbestos contamination to the main auditorium ceiling and perimeter service walkways was discovered, the source of which is the sprayed insulation fire protection to the main support beams.
The client employed Doyes to undertake the decontamination/asbestos removal works and subsequently cancelled all bookings for the near future to ensure the decontamination works are completed before re-opening.
The contract was carried out during the temporary 12 week closure of the Theatre, which allowed the show to go on!
